I got an internship at a small startup as a software engineer thanks to a bit of nepotism (my friend’s dad vouched for me). That internship eventually turned into a remote job, which has been going well so far. I heard that they’ve started relocating some remote employees to their new office in the UK. I doubt I’ll be one of them anytime soon since I’ve only been working with them for a few months, and I’m still finishing university, but maybe after I graduate and if I stick around long enough that may happen.
I’m in Italy, but I’ve been seriously considering the idea of moving to London at some point, maybe in 2.5 years once I graduate. Aside from the benefits like the possibility of a raise, and getting to be in a country, I believe that London has a stronger entrepreneurial scene than here, specially around tech. I enjoy the benefits of employment now, but I've been thinking of starting to build my own products soon, and maybe London can make that process easier.
Is it worth it??
