Recently been looking into types of palatal expansion such as MSE.

Not for me, just in terms of facial aesthetics for people.

I’ve seen people get it and it make them asymmetrical but some people get it and it helps their facial aesthetics. I know it’s subjective however is it REALLY worth it if you have a normal palate width of say 37mm to 42mm?

No only for palatecels

Helps Mostly with smile and breathing

Some Minor but notable improvements in zygos, eye spacing, nose, infraorbitals and midface projection, sometimes even chin and genial angle if also paired with forward face pull headgear. Look at some before after side profiles (skull scan)

thanks, do you know if invisalign/ braces indirectly have an affect on palatal expansion?

are the teeth not linked to maxilla and jaw?

Yes but braces and invisalign will only move the teeth, the alveolar bone around the teeth is softer but the maxilla wont move with the teeth.

MSE moves the maxilla without touching teeth and the teeth will just move because they are anchored into the maxilla

Moving a car wont move the street but moving the street will move the car ahh

got you got you, appreciate it
