Is my maxilla recessed?

I cant really tell if my maxilla is recessed, but i feel like it is. Its harder to tell because i feel that I don't have a bad chin or eyes except dark circles, but my nose is slightly inwardly set in my face, I think. I also don't know if I am ltn or higher. This isnt my natural hair, because I just got a perm for the first time.

They did say they wanted to expand my palate but could because my jaw was to narrow, and when I asked them again a few years later, they said the same thing.

You can see the slight downward slope and recalibration for the depth check. The maxilla is like a shelf, and can become slanted from bad oral habits.

Do you mouth breathe at night? Either way I’d go to an airway orthodontist, you are young and should be able to fix this.

Research mouth taping at night.

Look into this study on a monkey who was forced into poor oral habits.

Orthodontic Braces/Bands will make sleep apnea worse, and it’s bad enough you have it at such a young age, it will only get worse.

The teeth will be pulled back and the maxilla or mandible will follow while also leading to further downward growth and recession.

Do not let anyone use orthodontic camouflage- only moving the teeth will have the bone follow and could ruin your life.

You need some form of expansion or jaw surgery, go to an AIRWAY based orthodontist, spend hours calling any location and asking if they are airway based near you.

I did before my braces like 1.5 years ago and I got 4 removed, or atleast 4 teeth removed. The orthodontist said that I had no room in my mouth for a palate expander, because we asked. I asked recently, and they again said the same thing. Does your mouth typically get larger by the end of puberty?

You should talk to you dentist to get a palate expander,since ur 13 its possible to get it expanded easily,if the dentist doesnt want you to get your upper palate expanded you should get another dentist,talk to your parents about this issue and everything,tell them stuff like you dont want your maxilla recessed and if you will keep it like that it will affect your looks and your dating life and other stuff,i saw a dentist on tiktok explaining everything,here:

I’ve given you what you need, do it yourself. Find orthodontist near you and ask if they are airway focused, I called over 15 in my area to find one, keep I’m mind I am also a young adult and cannot do anything without my parents because I can’t afford it.

You should spend hours researching this stuff seriously, it’s more important than whatever you are focused on at the moment.
