Is my ortho high or is this real

I just had a consultation with an airway ortho and this bitch is tryna to say that they will give me this appliance

And that it will bring foward not just my upper(maxilla) but my lower(mandible) aswell. Maybe I’m retarted but I don’t see how this would work if the anchor pour is on the mandible and the rubber band is literally PULLING IT BACKWARDS. But there claiming I can get 8mm of maxillary protraction and 5mm mandible which is what I need. I just need a second thought cuz I think this is retarted and don’t see how it can work unless I’m missing something

I have never seen this bullshit a day in my life. More than likely an outdated method that your ortho is trying to take a shortcut with, or make your situation to complicated. Get consulted for a bimax if both of your jaws need to come foward. Or get a herbst appliance and marpe with headgear and elastics (and buy locks to prevent cw growth). Both those methods or widely used and most popular, with my recessed mandible I found it was the best way and with my narrow airways marpe expands pallete which is already narrow for me and brings maxilla foward. But I would recommend researched wtf this even is cases of it working, what age it works at, and better alternatives. Orthodontics is one of the most underrated ways to ascend and there’s endless paths.

And their even trying to expland with this

Not Marpe or fme but a tooth borne expander and claiming it will give skeletal expansion and I just can get myself to believe them

I’ve been doing tons of research and really think a lefort with down grafting is what I need. The weird thing is I’m 17 and this ortho says they use Marpe but when it comes to discuss the plan the doctors not there it’s just a lady who doesn’t seem know much and she’s saying I’m getting tooth borne expanders AT 17

Yeah I get that when your main ortho is off doing something else and their assistant is sitting there just doing their dirty work. I asked how I’m gonna fix my overbite and this chick said, “idk, probably elastics I guess”
