my parents both have wide jaws though, could a narrow palate mean a narrow jaw?

had multiple ortho appointments, the only point of mse is if you have a bad smile. getting an expander wouldn't widen your cheekbones/jaw or have any affects on the aesthetics of the face so what's the point if you have a good smile?
