is my potential ortho bullshiting me?

so for context i went to 3 orthodontists and 2/3 have denied the need of an expander. This is confusing because the private one i went to said otherwise after confirming my narrow palate. the only reason we had this ortho on hold is because they didn’t have damon braces. today i went to the third ortho and the dude looking at my teeth was saying some shit like “expanding won’t avoid extractions!” well tbh it was very clear that most of the staff got extractions lol. i’m already recessed asf so fucking my face up even more via extractions is the last thing i need. he said an expander is not possible because i had overcrowding and even my pea brain could put together that what he said was completely false. should i search for an ortho with damon and expanders or should i settle with the private ones without damon braces lmk

dental occlusion wont really do much to ur face, but its safe to stick to the safe side
Expand and advance and no retractions but u shouldnt worry too much if u actually go through it
