is narrow palate a maxilla problem

is it because the maxilla is recessed

what other factors contribute to my awful narrow palate that makes me want to rope?

I don't think it's due to poor maxilla. Cavill has narrow palate, but his maxilla doesn't seem recessed.

yes its most like a sign that your maxilla is way too narrow, too recessed, and possibly downswung. Its a pretty bad sign.
now you need to understand that you could widen your arches with the teeth but that would mostly only move the alveolar process leaving your cheekbones sinuses and nasal volume too narrow.
the ultimate solution for this is MSE with MSDO to expand your bone followed by controlled arch braces to expand the arches on top of that. Be aware that MSE with MSDO is extremely painful, but less risky than a surgery that aims at widening your skull at once.
that would make a huge differnce in your appearence and health but could still leavy you recessed and downswung if you are.

I was literally born with a narrow palate, it’s can’t all be environmental. My baby teeth were narrow.
