So me and my friend's parents have the same height Mother (5'6) and Father (5'10) and we both are of some height (5'9) as well even though he is almost a vegan and barely eat any animal protein or even any protein , is 20%+bf and does 0 exercise and on this side i drink 1-2 litre of milk a day and 6-8 eggs and other dairy products , 15-16%bf and hiit daily and get a lot of sun but still there isn't even a cm difference in our height. I believe genetics are everything and anything else natural is just cope

you were likely predisposed to be shorter than him but with your better nutrition you ended up the same height. you should be pretty grateful as you would be shorter than him if you ate like him

If his parents ate the same way then they also did not fulfil their genetic height potential. You can't just take different people at the same height and assume their genetics are the same.

Nutrition's role in height has been demonstrated over and over in studies like Weston Price's nutrition and physical degeneration, and in observations of populations that eat divergent diets like north vs south koreans.

Makes sense cuz apart from my dad everyone in his side of the family is below 5'6 this probably woulda predisposed me to be shorter

It’s important, bone thickness contributes to height and calcium and vitamin D are important for bone formation.

You need both the resources (NUTRIENTS, MINERALS, CALORIES, PROTEIN) and adequate stimulation (HIGH HGH LEVELS, EXERCISE, VIT D) for height growth.

But at an individual level, diet only has a significant impact at the extremes, which is not the case for the vast majority of this forum.

OP is damaging himself by consuming animal products, and would experience a negligible difference in growth by consuming plants (with adequate nutrients) instead.

critical thinking is the exact thing i'm doing and which you're lacking. of course asians will be taller on average in the west because the west has better healthcare and nutrition. that wasn't the point i was making. your statement about how asians with short parents are growing taller than their parents doesn't prove anything. a lot of asians grow taller than their parents outside of the US, because it's a normal genetic occurence.

i never said you shouldn't follow a good diet. only malnourishment like having below 11% bf during puberty or other medical factors can decrease your height potential because your hormones will be fucked.

when asians move to the US they will have access to better healthcare and monitoring of their health and moving to the US already means you must be educated and are wealthy which means the chance of having shit hormonal levels are lower compared to poor asians in asia.

nutrition matters, but if you aren't malnourished and don't have any hormonal deficiencies you will grow to your genetic height potential. height genetics are not just like: your parents are 5'6 and 6'0 this means you will become 5'8. it's much more complicated since all the DNA of your ancestors will be included in the pool for height. even if your parents are both tall you can still become short (even with the best nutrition possible).

I agree that having the best diet possible is better since it will improve skin and overall health, but for height it's mostly cope. you can't gain height from good nutrition but it will prevent you from losing height. for 95% of guys in the west they are not losing height because of their diet. maybe like 4% is losing height because they leanmaxxed too hard during puberty but it's only 1-3cm and 1% lost 3-8cm because they lived like north-koreans, but you need to be infested by worms and be like 40kg max so don't think this applies to you.

the best way to overcome the nutrition equals height myth is to study penis sizes and read some darwin nigga. you're probably like 14 years old but that's fine. i don't blame you for believing the drink milk to grow taller myth. i've been studying the penis and height subject for 6 years already and my penis is 8 inches. most genetics are a lottery. there will always be a 0,1% chance of you becoming 5'4 even though your parents are 6'2. thinking that all 5'4 men are short because of their diet is a sign you may be lacking critical thinking. my advice is to pray you will be taller in your next life.

That's not how it works. Torso height is mostly genetic. Spine also grows latest so if you were malnourished in your late teens it could be the cause but 99% of the time it's genetic. If you aren't sure if your torso is short because of genetics or malnourishment causes you could go to a doctor and/or analyze your growth process. By looking at the growth chart you can easily spot if someone is malnourished. Just check your hormone levels and if they are too low it could be a reason for growth retardation. If all hormone levels are fine it's all genetics.

that doesn't prove that the torso growth was acquired because of the extra protein intake. it's very normal for the torso to still grow after your legs already stopped growing. without the extra protein intake your torso would have grown as well.
