Is oral minoxidil worth it?

I've been thinking of starting 2.5mg oral minoxidil for over a month now to thicken my hair, eyebrows and facial hair. I have done a lot of research about oral minoxidil, but my main issue is that almost every source varies from the next, some people describing it as a magic pill that will grow your hair, and other's describe it as the devil himself. I want to get advice from people that have actually used it and know what it's like, rather than some blue-pilled doctor.

If anyone here has actually used oral minoxidil, I'd appreciate hearing how it went overall, any side effects, what to watch out for, etc...
