Is .org mining for crypto with the userbase's hardware? Why does it take up so much/why is it so slow?

My GPU and CPU usage with ONLY .org open on Google Chrome. Nothing else it open, usually Chrome never takes up this much, it periodically goes back down and goes back up to the level in the screenshots. Does anyone else have this issue or is it Windows related/my misunderstanding? The site feels slow today.

Most browsers automatically block cryptominers as it was a big issue before, even so you can check the javascripts on the site and search for the script that connects to the mining pool, or simply check the network tab and do websocket.
