The fun thing is we all agree collectively to be controlled as oppressed.

Capitalists understood state force is not enough to hold people under control so since the 60s they have carefully created a cultural hegemony that is successfully able to "democratize" public opinion. Sum the panopticon effect on steroids that social networks are and you get our current society.
