Loads of people like to say something along the lines of "he has low psl but his appeal is pretty high", but are they really separate things?
Short answer: Yes and no
Long answer: PSL and "appeal" are codependent in other words you can't have one without the other but not in the sense most people think. When someone says PSL is appeal people immediately think that the higher rating you receive the higher your perceived attractiveness will be, however this isn't the case. The reason why it doesn't work like that is mainly because "appeal" relative to PSL would look more like a bell curve than a linear rise, in other words "appeal" would peak at about htn. The reason for this is that well people feel more comfortable when there's something "normie" about someone else. You can't have too much of everything if you want to be appealing that's a part of why people like Chico who objectively has a lower rating than Jordan is more appealing than him. Chico's biggest halo is his harmony meanwhile his dimorphism isn't nearly as good meaning there's something that makes him feel reachable in a way to others. Another part of "appeal" (and a big one at that) is archetype. Different archetypes have different amounts of fans or in other words people that prefer them. That's why prettyboys and robust prettyboys are usually favoured when comparing "appeal" over a hypermasculine archetype. This part is completely subjective and that's why opinion varies so much but certain opinions are more popular than others. Finally the biggest reason for the whole "appeal" vs PSL is because well the biggest factor in how appealing you are is your SMV and well your SMV includes height, frame, status, social skills and a plethora of other things.
