It’s not a grad scheme. It’s a school leavers programme. They’ll basically pay for a degree in QS and I’ll work for them.

I’ve got a few others too: one for finance, one for IB but back office, one for commercial banking.

It depends on the specific role. I’d say it’s equal to accounting tbh in terms of reputation. Can make 6 figures if you specialise plus getqualified same with accounting

id say go for the finance one or IB one. im not super informed but id assume even if its back office there's a chance that you could move into doing a front office role for the company, and then potentially IB?

if that seems to be impossible, with little job progression then i reckon the finance one would be the best. if none of these are super attractive to you and you're not worried about debt when you leave, then just go to uni and do your degree it'll be 10x more fun than a degree apprenticeship but you will have to take on debt and not have years of experience as the tradeoff.

i applied for a building surveying degree apprenticeship, got to the last assessment centre but lost

- It’s very hard to move from back to front office from what I’ve heard. Tbh it’s probably easier to go to big 4 financial services and then break into IB if I’m going with the degree apprenticeship route.

- I don’t know how fun my uni would be though. It’s in London and it’s a pretty sweat uni, but it’s a target for finance.

- I’ve done better in assessment centres than the video interview stages tbh. The key is mainly just researching the company, what’s unique about them, I.e clients, projects ect and mentioning that during interviews. For the group task, It’s best to contribute but not being overbearing/annoying and on the flip side quiet/shy.

- yeah so finance one is prob the move

- aight im 99% sure ik what uni offer you have but wont say obviously. doesnt matter will still be 100x more fun than working 40< hours a week earning not a lot of money while simultaneously studying for exams. london is a great place for uni social wise even if it seems like a sweaty uni there will be cool people

- same the other people had experience in construction so it was hard to compete in person. it was for a city council so not much i could research lol

- do the finance one if you dont care about having fun, socialising, enjoying free time, girls etc. but im assuming you do care about some of those things otherwise you probably wouldnt be here
