I've had debates about this topic before, and I'm curious to see what people say.

Through my studies, I don't believe raw meat is better than rare in the slightest. To anyone who believes raw meat is superior/good, what made you have this opinion towards it?

Change my mind

You avoid AGEs, carcinogens, damaged fats/minerals, & nutrient reduction. JFL, the carcinogens & advanced glycation end products will eventually catch up to you if you eat cooked animal foods. "Carnivore diet" copers are something else.

Rare meat has basically the lowest AGE formation

Rare meat voids almost all carcinogens (obviously, there are still some, but this is minor in comparison to how bad raw meat actually is for you)

Damaged fats/minerals are basically non-existent when you're cooking rare with no charring

Raw meat does contain slightly more nutrients, I will give you that, but at the cost of raw flesh festering your system, I don't see how its a valid reason over rare

Why is raw meat bad for you? It's like you understand that having it somewhat raw (rare) is a positive thing here.

Friends had a lot of anecdotal evidence around raw meat, something healthy probably shouldn't get you constipated and worsen your gut motility

Now lets say you've been eating your raw meat and it has caused extremely low gut motility, now you have shit festering and rotting in your intestines. Not to mention, low gut motility lowers your absorption of nutrients.

Your only argument is anecdotal evidence from your friends? There are so many variables at play. In my experience, cooked animal products caused gut problems & indigestion (was eating lots of boiled eggs & cooked ground beef/steak). Whenever I eat moderate-high raw fat consumption, I don't have these problems anymore. A lot of people would agree that raw meat, eggs, & even dairy feels much easier on the gut than if it was cooked/pasteurized.

No, I provided my other reasons and can give more if needed, but did you change anything else besides going raw? i.e different steaks (going from regular farmed to 100% grassfed)

What's all your reasons? Obviously regular farmed animal products are shit, I wouldn't consume them thinking they are ideal.

No animals cook food.
We are animals
Our biology would never evolve to where we needed to cook for no reason
Fire = hurt humans would never put their food in fire.

its about preferance really I think theres no real noticeble benefit in eating meat raw. Cooking it makes it way safer to eat plus way better in taste imo

Goatis says that if you think it doesnt taste good you should try it for a little more and if that doesnt help you should quit. I think thats the best take on it because your body knows what it needs and lets you know that through taste (most of the time).
