Environment definitely plays a big role. If my parents had not given me goyslop as a child I probably wouldn't be 5'11 with a recessed maxilla

i was fed cereal & slop growing up & had to get a bimax to fix my recession

meanwhile all my family members that aren’t from america & didn’t have access to slop grew up with developed jaws

so its environmental

in my opinion
