Is social-mediamaxxing legit?

I'm particularly talking about Instagram. What's the required looks rating in order to gain some following? I saw a 6/10 friend of mine the other day who had some pretty basic photos like shoes some travel ones and he was talking to a decent amount of girls. Is it a good way to statusmaxx?

You don't need to have good looks. Social media followings/likes is all about being active in different social circles. You need to be socially active in real life in order to be higher-status on social media.

I tried the instagram game a while ago, I think I arrived at like 1K followers,
didn't really help or do anything useful with girls, because to text both people must add eachother or else you end up in the spam folder
haven't logged for a year

Either look like a chad or have an interesting travel account. It might help with something like tinder to link instagram but thats just a guess.
