Why do people claim that supplements, like vitamin D for example, or any supplement, is not absorbed by the body?
any proof to back this up?

yes, more ideal to get from your diet, I do not argue against that, I follow primarily meat, organs, eggs (basically animal based diet), but still supplementing things like vitamin D or Vitamin C (which animal diet lacks), or more vitamin K could be beneficial if absorbed.

Everybody agrees that (some) supplements are beneficial.
But even with the highest quality supplements, they are not necessarily as bioavailable as real food.
Cheap, synthetic shit (which is hard to determine unless the brand is incredibly reputable) is even worse - why I personally consider most to be a waste of money.

Because they don't know shit.

Vitamins and Hormones like Vit D from Supplements are obviously absorbed the same way they are from food.

Once they go through your digestive system they go into the bloodstream.

And VitD+K2 are a great example of this since doctors "prescribe" them all the time for patients with deficiency in VitD. Also keep in mind that they're best taken with a full meal.

Now, having said that, most supplements are simply overkill and often not necessary and may even lead to adverse effects.

To put it differently: Just because something gets absorbed doesn't mean it gets the desired effect/result that it's advertised for.

The body absorbs supplements the same way it absorbs nutrients from food, even tho certain nutrients can compete for absorption and they can be in forms that the body doesn't absorb well.

Listen, I don't think that any of these are bad necessarily, but taking something like Zinc is redundant for you since the impact on testosterone production would be negligible unless you're already deficient. Lamb liver and red meat have lots of Zinc.
You're not doing any harm with these but some might be a waste of money if you're already getting enough from your animal diet.

or you can eat carrots also for beta c
but i think i saw it gives more of an orange look, idk.
i do want to get my tan back, but idk if that is the best way to do it
MT2 and sun beds for you. Beta Carotene won't do much if anything.

the zinc I had before I was switched to animal-based tbh, I just continued using it. maybe I stop using it since it could cause zinc poisoning or some shit, or be counter productive?

I'm extremely pale and saw lots of good posts about it

Wouldn't worry about Zinc poisoning or taking it being counter-productive but rather just unnecessary.

you would need sun beds tho no?
i was gonna use but i dont wanna do weekly sunbed
I think I recall us discussing this in another thread.

Just looked on the internet and the UV is really, really low in London. I'm assuming there's little variation throughout the UK.
Sunbed is realistically the only way to have a substantial effect.

You don't need to use one for long, but ideally you'd want to be at a frequency of every 2-3 days initially, until you reach the ideal tan in which you'd alter your frequency to weekly (up to every two weeks) at the same sunbed duration/intensity and same dosage as what you were using just prior to maintaining your tan.

You could look into fake tanning, some people have had some good results with that, but it's honestly more effort and I have no idea how often you need to apply it, plus you risk looking stupid.

Some supplements are fat soluble. Just take the supplements with some food.

Supplements are not bad but they have a slighty worse bioavailability.

Any detailed posts about it?
Here:

This is what I found quickly going through BOTB. If it's lacking information then feel free to PM - I'd make a detailed thread about it later down the line if necessary. A lot of information about it should be available on here though.
