Stockiness is more about bone robustness. Ideally you need to be lean regardless of your robustness, 7-15% range being ideal depending on your genes you might end up naturally higher or lower. If you want to speak about the societal ideal, then a more slender yet tapered frame like a swimmer's would be ideal (ecto mesomorph).
