A lot of boys grew up with parents and grandparents getting them out of bed at 6 in the morning to do yard work, to go stand at church, to go to math camp or whatever, ALL in the name of teaching them the value of "hard work".
And yet, it's pretty plainly obvious to anyone with a brain/eyes in 2026 that those kids got nowhere except being the model citizen to be squeezed and exploited for everything they can produce, and that hard work is not some virtue that's venerated among society or something. It actually goes completely unnoticed. The game nowadays is looking extremely good, and conning other suckers (through moral shaming and "conventions" like this) into handing their money and time to you.
Wouldn't it be a much better 18 year investment to raise your kids on looksmaxxing and socialmaxxing, and figuring out how to set up schemes to deceive the "hardworking" kids into working for you? They can work hard on maxing out their presence/charisma, and convincing someone else to rake leaves for them for the lowest price possible, rather than "building character" raking them themselves. Seems like this has been some groups/peoples' mentalities for all these years anyway....
