THE DEATH PENALTY

The death penalty is a punishment imposed on a criminal by the authorities of a state and involves taking their life

There are still several countries that apply it, such as China and others. Modern methods of execution include firing squad, lethal injection, electric chair, hanging, stoning, or beheading. And better not to mention older methods, because I will upset your stomach even more.

I will not go through the process of listing the pros and cons. You have read them, discussed them, and written about them in school essays. I will mention, however, a sad phenomenon that prevails nowadays.

Very supposedly civilized people set up their own popular courts and wish the death penalty upon other people who have committed an offense that enrages them, such as rape, pedophilia, or abuse of an animal. You will see this very often under a post mentioning one of the above crimes, with phrases such as “death penalty without a second thought” or “I wish they would burn you alive.” And the saddest thing is that such comments are the majority.

No matter how serious the offense someone has committed is, and no matter how much it enrages us, we cannot so easily judge whether they deserve to be executed or not. Quite simply, because we do not know the value of a human life, and therefore we cannot evaluate how fair that punishment itself is, even if the offense committed is murder. As we have seen, there is great difficulty in distinguishing what is ethical and what is not.

Science, mainly through sociology, psychology, and medicine, can help us to a great extent to better understand when we cause harm and point us toward ways to contribute to social well-being. Respecting the life of others may have a positive effect on our own success as well, because for the others, the other person may be you.

Like imagine living your life as a thug from early teenage years to mid 30s. Robbing whatever you want, fucking prostitutes, taking drugs, not following any rules and then you get locked up for a murder and you get TV, free meals, exercise, sleep whenever u want until they send u to death in your 50s or 60s

No it isn't unethical because you don't expedience death itself, you only expedience the proces of dying. Witch can be done without pain.

I think terrorists, mass murderers, serial killers, and generally people with felony charges mostly deserve it

Life does not have any inherent value just because it is alive, nothing wrong with killing people that are a net negative to the collective and why bother with trying to make sure it doesnt hurt for the scum that are sentenced to death

I am very in favor of the death penalty for many people but sometimes it is not enough thus I am also in favor of torture for certain individuals. For example burning at the stake can be a much more fitting punishment than a lethal injection or blowing someone’s brains out. It would also be a good idea to base the torture on the crimes committed, for example if someone raped someone, he could be sentenced to death by impalement so basically you just drop the fellow on a spiky pole with his asshole and you leave him on there until he dies, or perhaps you light him on fire if it takes very long.

Another thing that should be introduced for people that don’t get the death penalty is they should be forced to perform slave labor. Otherwise they are just being lazy in prison for years while society has to fund them. They are already a net negative to society so that only worsens it. But if they were forced to perform labor instead it could be a net positive and society could at least benefit a little from these degenerates.
