Is the extent of which people's looks are valued nowadays unnatural/exaggerated?

And I'm not just talking just sexual relationships I also mean amongst friends and for celebrities

Like because of how high quality phone cameras are and social media

Obviously looks have always been very important and naturally valued and most friendships and relationships have been looksmatched but I feel like nowadays it's probably way more blatant

Lookin at old videos of TV from like the 80s and 70s there's so many subhuman men on the screen but they will have a value such as wit, social intelligence or a good speaking voice.

Nowadays a good looking man can literally be a complete and utter autistic fucking retard and a blatant cunt but no one cares whatsoever.

And an ugly man despite having other values isn't valued whatsoever merely because he's ugly.

Maybe I'm just coping but I feel like that in the past when everyone had more of a soul your personality/character actually had some kind of significance instead of being completely irrelevant.
