Is the importance of teeth overstated?

Not as many people here talk about it, but normfags always go on about the importance of perfectly straight teeth. But, when I was in High School, I always noticed most of the Chad/HTN boys almost never wore braces despite not having perfectly straight teeth.

In fact, most people don't have perfectly straight teeth especially of the lower jaw.

I watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas recently and Johnny Depps teeth imperfections were especially apparent there.

This is despite him having a Hollywood tier jaw.

Do normfags over state the importance of teeth?
How close is the connection between crooked teeth and poor jaw development?
And, lastly, DO braces cause downward growth of the jaw if implemented during development? What is the conclusive research on that?

even if braces did cause minor downward growth, it’s still extremely high roi, we're lucky orthodontics are so black pilled in a way

most are focused on airway and not aestehtics.

most people get braces which pull their maxillary backwards.

Having good teeth is useless (perfect teeth wont ascend you) and having bad teeth is not failo, cuz you have them due to having shit bones anyway.

It is yet another "improvement" people cope with. Gymcelling is very similar. Or just another excuse to reject you (but not the real reason).

Btw, you should never smile as a man. Makes you look low T submissive.

Yes, but that ROI is definitely much lower for those with only some misalignment. I had braces + palate expansion at 15, but you could see my fucked up jew tier teeth from a football field away :feelswhy:

Most good looking people I knew who didn't have braces still have at least average jaw development. Though you could identify some misalignment from up close it doesn't really matter because nobodies observing your mouth from there unless it's themselves or a dentist/ortho. At that level, I feel braces from the ages of 13-18 are actually a poor choice due to the deleterious effects on upward, forward, and width growth of the jaw. This is especially true if the treatment involves extractions.

Don't know why anybody would think they're blackpilled, most of them end up causing maxillary recession in adolescent clients. Only a few offer palate expansion and it's a much more expensive option compared to extraction (at least in my area). Plus expanding the width of the upper jaw still neglects everything else, including the mandible. My mandible is more narrow than my maxilla because its expansion simply wasn't accounted for during treatment. It is nice to be able to comfortably sit my tongue at the roof of my mouth now, though.
