Is the reason you get more beard as you get older changes in androgen sensitivity?

DHT peaks in your 30's and 40's. This is why not uncommon to have a smooth babyface at 27 with just a bit of fuzz on your chin but be rocking a full thick beard at 35-49. The downside of increasing DHT is hair loss from the scalp but only if your genetically predisposed to androgen sensitivity in that area (mpb).
 
I've always had a full beard since 16-18, so I doubt aging per se has any major role in it. Some guys never get full beards naturally, while others get them just after puberty kicks in for a short period of time. It probably has to do with other things than just test/DHT alone too.
 
no it’s just longer exposure to androgens
