Is there a point in messaging hinge matches first?

If you like a girls photo on hinge, and she matches you without saying anything, then is she just hoping for attention? I've only gotten an opener twice.

I saw a friend's hinge messages, as well as someone on tiktok, and often the girl will open with 'hey' after he likes one of her photos.

I know getting texted first on tinder is way more rare, but on hinge it seems to be fairly normal for the girl to open after matching. Is there any point in messaging her if she matched me without saying anything?
