Is there anyway to widen lower arch other than MSDO?

MSDO seems like a shit surgery ngl. too unstable and makes your gonians more inwards + has a change to give you TMD.

but yea wondering how to not make gonians more narrow while doing msdo. Would holding them in place via a device do anything or just rape your tmjs.
I need to get expansion but can’t afford losing gonian and mandible width

I was doing some research and apparently some surgeons perform a 2 piece BSSO, where they do a normal BSSO cut plus a midline cut and widen it manually. it does all the widening of MSDO without making the gonians more inward + it's more stable as it doesn't use the condyles/TMJs as an anchoring hinge point. only problem is that it's expensive af and only a few perform it.

SMO,BMBO etc. there are a lot of alternatives to widen your lower arch but most of them aren’t really effective since it’s a risky surgery in general.
