everyone I've known with adhd is normal but with lower attention span and sometimes doctors give them stimulants. both my parents have ADHD and both did badly in school, one dropped out of hs, both never went to college

A spike of dopamine / other neuromodulatory molecules / hormones could be triggered by various things. Try and note if there is any pattern when you get bursts of energy.
