I feel like I can read people and communicate just fine but I have no real interest in other people. Even if we get along and I like talking to them I wont for weeks/months at a time. Usually rather do something else. Socializing feels like effort. Idk, how do I fix this? I was less like this when younger.

No, sounds like you're more extreme introverted.

Autistics don't necessarily not want to socialize, they just have trouble understanding how to do it which can scare us away from socializing.

I personally like doing it but I have a lot of trouble socializing, it's not a good feeling at all when I realize I've been acting retarded while in a group, I avoid socializing as a result.

Feels like I'm putting on an act. If I don't act high energy it's just not fun, but it drains me so much to be that way

Damn. What kind of friends do you have. I have some friends that are much lower energy but they're the nerd types.
