this type of internet forum self-selects for certain mental phenotypes - the same way you would expect to see the same types of people at the gym, at the anime convention, or at Walmart.

there's overlap with "autism" traits but to call PSL posters people with autism wouldn't be accurate because of the image it evokes. Everyone here sorts posters into different categories in their mind, a psychologist could probably make 5 new "mental disorders" (constructs) from these.

Aspergers sucks, but with a bit of help many spergs can still live decent fulfilling lives with friends, relationships and loved ones. People acting like it's this life destroying tragedy are probably just self diagnosed
