Is this normal to be sad about?

There’s this highly austistic guy at my school

I am nice to him and I talk to him properly about his interests, he is one of the best people at maths I know, it’s truly impressive

People literally treat him as a subhuman, I feel extremely bad

I am one of the only nice people to him, I talk to him in some classes and between them. I don’t hang out with him at lunch and breaks tho

He did his birthday party and he just invited the people he plays football with at lunch who pretty much all of them make fun of him.

He didn’t invite me, which is a shame because I would have gotten him a gift, but still it’s more sad as they just make fun of him and he probably doesn’t realise

I witnessed him trying to flirt with a girl today and it was really thoughtful actually, she told him her favourite chocolate months ago and he remembered and gave it to her today. She just laughed it off and left it there.

He is like 6’5 and quite plus sized and people literally are horrible to him all the time

I don’t know if he cares or what

But it just makes me sad idk.

I may get him a gift anyway
