But yeah when you take rent+ bills + taxes + food + studnet loan off your salary you’re generally left with a lot less than what you thought
That’s why I always life when these people are like oh I’m just gonna get a high paying job with six figure salary and retire after 5 years like JFL - do people literally think earn 100k = 500k in savings after 5 years?

Didn't watch but from the prior comments above me. I assume it's above the huge amount of liabilities attached to the salary so the amount of money left to spend freely is a lot less.
Also saw a frame of golden handcuffs which if I recall correctly refers to the terms put on by a lot of companies that make you unable to cash out the stock options for several years after they're granted.
Effectively forcing one to keep working for the company to ever be able to cash out their stock grants.
