I have like $1k laying around that I can afford to lose

Is it genuinely a good idea to try and learn trading? I tried options once a couple years ago and blew up my account, but I was using emotions instead of logic then

Nigga you better off investing that shit in memecoins than to start trading. That shit takes at least 1 year of consistency and determination

Learning how to trade takes a long time and real dedication but if you really want to start you should do demo first

Put it in an index fund. Wait 10 years. Now you have $2,000.
You're welcome.

No, I have made more than 20k in less than 2 years from trading. If you learn a good strat, your phsychology is on point and you are disciplined and you understand that it takes atleast half a year to see results, its doable.

In an absolutely ridiculous bull market. Try and do that in normal times or a bear.

this is objectively the best strategy, unless you have really extensive knowledge about a certain niche like idk salmon trading or something extremely specific that huge funds won't bother going into bc the market is too small for them. otherwise, you will 99.9999999% under-perform s&p 500 (a standard benchmark), over a 15 year (or most likely even a 1 year) period

I have 2 friends who make a very good living off day trading futures, problem is it's not something you can make money off of as a 'side hustle.' Unless you want to put a good 3-7 years into learning how to trade, it's not worth it IMO. Also if you are going to trade Futures contracts, just get with a prop firm like Topstep or My Funded Futures and that way you don't have to lose 1K.
