Is training a little harder than half-assing the key to gymcelling without aging prematurely?

I've been hitting the gym for the past 2 years, but honestly, I’ve been pretty irregular. If I compress it, my total consistent time would be around 8 months — 4x a week, upper body only, about 1 hour per session. I'd say I was giving about 70-80% effort each time instead of going all-out.

As you can tell, this isn't enough gym volume to really age me prematurely. I’m gonna be 22 this year, and I’m kinda curious about this now.

I've already seen some gains. Also worth mentioning — I had late puberty, and once I started looksmaxxing, I noticed my orbitals got denser and my facial bones became more robust overall. (I ate a lot of meat too during this phase.)

So now I’m wondering: should I continue this slightly more than half-assed training style? Or will it eventually start affecting me negatively?
