I chose not to do uni because I had no friends at college so I assumed uni would be shit too. I’m probably right (shock), but in your experience is that true or is uni a bit better and a chance to get a social life even if you’re subhuman?

Uni > College
Except specific colleges [like imperial college london, which i think is actually technically a uni]

Uni: privately owned [more prestigious]
College: State run

Basically college is usually 16-18 and uni is usually 18-21, and 6th form is just fancy college

Imperial is a very good uni tbh and you can fit in there easier as an incel

Thats similar to here in Canada. Except the top/most precious universities here are all public institutions. The private unis/colleges generally are looked down on

Oh I see yeah. So state schools vs private institutions. There's isn't such a huge disparity in the US colleges I think. Like many people I knew deliberately choose strong in-state public universities because the education quality is comparable and you avoid taking on massive debt. Out of state doesn't make sense for a lot of degrees so going to a good state school is a a more rational decision than paying private school tuition like at Carnegie Mellon University or Stanford University etc paying their tuition fees = buying range rover every semester

One of my cousins used to go to a grammar school was a very bright kid and all but he turned out to be a drug dealer. Talked about him many times. What a waste tbh

It happens a lot where i live too unfortunately, its such a waste of potential

I even know childhood friends who ended up joining gangs and i have no idea what went wrong, some of them dont even come from bad backgrounds and are still pretty nice people to be honest

In sixth form my cousin buckled under family pressure and expectations. He had q major fallout with his dad over A levels and future plans led to shouting matches and feeling controlled, he rebelled and started hanging with street kids, chavs, and thugs. What began as moving weed for mates at parties escalated he linked up with Albanians and county lines runners, and started dealing with cannabis and ketamine.

It caught up with him within two years. Police raided after a sting, finding scales, baggies, product, and cash. Charged with possession with intent to supply (Class B: mainly cannabis and ket), he pleaded guilty. He was still young, so he received a lenient sentence of four months in a Category C/young offenders’ prison followed by licence, probation, and community payback. I haven't heard from my cousin or them in a long time now but last I heard he was doing some retail job. Shelf stacking and I've heard he's saving up to do a forklift course so he can move into warehouse work. He could have been so much more tbh

Its unfortunate that shit happens, since i live in merseyside county lines is extremely common. Usually also involves younger teens being groomed into it by gang members in exchange for expensive shoes and other stuff

I remember a house opposite my cousins got raided back in 2022 for having class A and class B drugs, and ive known a couple people who got arrested for being involved in county lines too. There are things in place in my area to try and help kids get off the streets but they typically have poor funding and shit doesnt work out, sucks when i see people that i knew growing up now involved in drug dealing

Trust me uni is way better

Way easier to make friends especially if you live in shared accommodation

I was like you, no friends in college and low confidence. Uni changed everything
