Is USA all fucked up or just some states?

I mean it seems like all the crappy things come from California or are created there and then spread like a disease throughout the rest of the world. It also seems like a terrible place with people obsessed with plastic surgery, status symbols and infested with Chads.
Is the rest of the USA as bad as California or a bit better?
