I've been making fried chicken at home with sunflower oil. I can't afford beef tallow or anything like that. Is using oil to cook really descending me, or am I just panicking for nothing? The chicken and all the ingredients I use are low-calorie, and the chicken is a good source of protein. And it's actually bearable to eat.

Maybe use an air frier or wtv it’s called so you don’t use as much oil
Or try to cook something else with the same ingredients

Sunflower oil isn't bad onto itself, the whole seed oils are bad myth has some merit, but what people don't realize is that the ingredient isn't bad... it's the consumption. Since seed oils are basically all Omega-6s, they're going to skew your Omega-3 to Omega-6 so badly that it's gonna have chronic inflammation in your body, and that has a whole array of negative connotations.

If you can't use any other oil, at least use them very sparingly and try to consume a lot of Omega-3s or supplement. I won't suggest salmon for obvious reasons, but sardines are pretty damn cheap. But ideally go for animal fats, EVOO, coconut oil or avocado oil whenever possible.
