Is your mandible meant to be dead straight?

Mine dead straight but for some people it seems to drop off slightly and their mandible slopes of towards their chin

Could not having this be the reason for my small chin?

I have a tall ramus so it’s not that

An angle is usually not straight but at an angle. That’s the fun part about angles

Are you referring to your gonial angle?

The gonial angle is the angle of the ramus and the manible right?

I meant should your mandible be straight at this angle

Some peoples mandibles seem to like ‘drop off’. Not sure if I explained this well th

I meant does it change along the mandible
Some have straight mandibles some have inwards curved mandibles (bicycle seat jaw) like David laid some have slightly outwards curved jaws like Jeff seid.

I would say yours is straight. Nothing is better or worse tho

do you mean antegonial notch?

Right - so what’s the cause of my vertically deficient lower third ?

Is my mandible too short ?

That would be fixable with BSSO

My ramus doesn’t appear to be deficient

Yeah, the angle between the ramus and bottom of the mandible:

Having a more obtuse gonial angle (higher angle) will result in a taller chin all else being equal.

I think a classic Chad will tend to have a lower gonial angle, but will have a tall chin in spite of this (really tall lower third/ramus).

I think so

see this skull for example there I am angle between the mandible and ramus and then the chin sort of drops off as it gets steeper

I agree lower gonial angle is ideal with a tall ramus.

But that’s just why I’m a bit confused as to what’s actualy causing my short chin because my ramus looks fine - would you agree?

Your ramus looks good. Bimax is probably a viable solution for you Lookswise

You would need a slight cw I think and advancement. Maybe advancement in itself is enough but I don’t think so

Could it maybe be vertically tall teeth or something that takes up a lot of space in your lower third?

Advancement of both the maxilla and lower jaw or just lower jaw?

Could vertical genio alone suffice do you think or bimax defo the better option?

How tf is that supposed to work? Only vertical bsso? Explain it to me please

Maybe that activates some neurons in your brain. Activate some critical thinking

Literally don’t understand what you mean?

I said vertical genio

I’m considering whether I need genio or genio+jaw surgery so just looking to source opinions

No need to be so rude

I read that you asked for only a Vertical lower jaw advancement which would be such a dumb question I wouldn’t have bothered with you anymore.

Mh im no expert on genios. Probably bimax is better tho

Some people have a straight mandible/jawline while others have it curved. Even with good forward growth they can differ

For example
EA4AAE44 ACC8 40CE 8B3A 3438E3D0D445

There is a clear sloap from the gonions to the chin, while others have dead straight. I think it can have something to do with the strength of the gonions and the forward growth and height of the chin

No

Ideal gonial angle is in the 100-110° most aesthetic
It gives a downward contour to the chin

90° is ogre tier
