So ISIS is ideologically driven. Members are often radicalized asf and willing to die for literally everything.
Cartels are economically motivated. Like their main goal is just to make big bands and territorial control for trafficing coke and not spreading ideology.
ISIS probably mogs the mexican cartel in terms of motivation and structure.
ISIS uses guerilla warfare, terror attacks and propaganda. Known for shock value and destabilizin entire regions.
Cartels use brutal violence and created well known gore videos, but also corruption infiltration of police and governments and strategic control of logistics and territory.
ISIS has limited ongoing resources, while the cartel is extremely well funded through the drug trade. They buy
military-grade weapons, use armored vehicles, drones and well-armed militias.
