Isn’t it ironic? I always dehumanized and disliked teachers but now…

Not yet! I am a student teacher, but not a licensed teacher. Licensed teachers can get hired and have their own classes, become a homeroom teacher, etc. Student teachers like me are studying to become a licensed teacher. It will take years. In the final year of university, I’ll be an official teacher-in-training which means I will get my own classes but a licensed teacher stays behind-the-scenes to see if things go smoothly.

“Remember, we always start off with racial slurs! Make sure to capitalize every single letter and to change it to the maximum font. This way, we ensure the captivity of the reader. Next, we add visuals to keep the morons entertained. Then, finally begin your essay…”

huh is that guy a teacher?
No, we had an interaction on here, and I said something like this. Then I decided to create a thread. Thus, I was inspired by him.

how old are the students you teach?
They are 12-13 years old, but I am leaving soon. Summer break is coming up and I’ve applied to a vocational school. The students there will be older, I’m guessing between 16 and 20. I wanted to explore the educational system, so I didn’t want to stick to one grade only. I want to see what I like best. So far, this has been pretty fun!

Jfl unless you can command respect to a pack of teenage gorillas you're in for a rough times
I’m an ugly, short framecel. I am unable to command respect. Plus they are younger teenagers, they’re 12-13.

It’s the only thing I see myself doing. Despite my dislike, I was always fascinated with schools. I liked the idea of attending different schools for some reason. Although back in the day, both my English teachers said I should become one. I protested because I wanted to be a male nurse. Then my germophobia cucked me.

I think 12-13 yr old students are pretty nice overall from what ive seen in my school, its the 14-16 year olds that are the worse. We just had a temporary teacher who finished her internship today and the students were all really nice. It depends on the school but I think 17-18 year olds are the nicest students. students can get extremely rude:feelspepo::feelspepo:

Thanks niebhai! It’s certainly not easy. It takes effort and dedication. I spent ten years as a NEET. But I overcame my insecurities and got out of my comfort zone (even though I used to be extroverted, NEETing has made me introverted).

I had a male teacher, and he was literally on his knees for the teenage girls. Whenever I even opened my mouth I would get told off but he let the girls talk all lesson, sit where they want and do what they want. It was crazy

Younger students have behavioral problems. I actually expected younger students to be more serious than older students, but conversations with teachers at my placement school revealed that older students are actually more serious. They pay better attention because they have to prepare for upcoming finals, which will influence their future. Younger students are careless and need to be warned, disciplined many times. According to my mentor teacher, it’s the year 9 students who are the toughest to deal with, so that aligns with what you said. Year 9 students are 15-16 here.

Thanks man! At my university, I have had 4 teachers in total. In the first semester, one was male and the others female. In the second semester, all were female. But some of them are really chill. One of them is pretty goofy actually. Literally jestermaxxes in class.

14-16 yr olds usually end up being the worst students to deal with. Many of them outtright just stay the same no matter what. I noticed a huge QOL improvement when I entered Year 12 and Y13 here (17-18) and students were were way more nicer and chiller and just 10x more focused on the actual education.

Thank you, brother! I am sure you can do it as well! I’ll create a new thread about this soon. In order to become a licensed teacher, it takes four years to get your bachelor’s (if everything goes well), but you can also go down the fast-track route, which takes two and a half years. I prefer to take it slow. If everything goes well, I should become a licensed teacher by 2030.

He would just sit there all lesson trying to make the 15-16 year old girls feel bad for him 😂. But that’s not as bad as one of my other male teachers, I remember he was having a 1 on 1 convo with a girl in the class and when he walked away a bulge had appeared on his trousers, it was hilarious

I am actually supposed to go to an appointment for an interview next week. For my second internship. It will be a vocational school, basically a lower-level college. Let’s see how the interview goes.
