Isn’t Sub 5 and LTN the same thing?

This question comes from the fact that “Sub 5” is often used as a worst rating than LTN, wich to me doesn’t make sense. An LTN is someone rated below 4/8 on the PSL scale, wich translates to 5/10 in normie ratings. So technically LTN = Sub 5 since for you to be rated an LTN you need to be considered below 5/10 in the normie rating system (Sub 5).

I hope the reasoning behind this thread is clear, and I apologize for any grammatical errors, as English is not my native language.​

What you are talking about is common belief, and in my thread I explain why it simply can’t be correct since a 5/10 can’t convert to a 3/8 it’s simple math. And if Sub 5 is the rating beetween LTN and Sub Human than where does Sub 3 fit?

The issue you’re having is that the 10 scale is a normal standard deviation scale with the middle being 5 and the PSL is basically a logarithmic function as far as percentage of the population after 3. PSL is more tailored to ranking the incredibly attractive bc realistically 6+ PSL is an easy 10 in normal standard deviation.

That makes no since, isn’t the PSL scale supposed to be linear? For example if you move 1 point up the scale shouldn’t you also move 1 tier (if you are an MTN and you ascend to an HTN essentially you gained 1 PSL point so 4/8 PSL can’t really sit beetween 2 different tiers).

My original thread doesn’t take normal stantard deviation in consideration, since ratings are meant to be objective. The term Sub 5 should refer to the bottom 50% of looks. Why would we take normal deviation in consideration when building an objective rating system?

Standard deviation just means its a parabola where the majority are around 4-6 and it tapers at the end, which is not how PSL works.

Nope sub5 Is lower than ltn it's means that your below 5 (4 and above) on the normie scale (1-10) ltn is usually a 5
