Isotretinoin & Growth Plates

Ive been on 20mg Isotret for maybe 3-4 months now, im 80kg and going through puberty.

Will my growth plates close? I have gotten strong joint paint in my legs before on Accutane, should I go get a hand xray?

Im 6'0 so it wouldnt be over, but I still have a few years left of puberty so I dont want to fucking hinder that, but I also dont want this fuckass acne it makes me look subhuman.

Yeah, why not. Get that X-ray and explain your situation. Isotretinoin can theoretically close the growth plates, but only at high doses over many months — and even then, there’s just a minimal chance it would actually affect them. So don’t worry. 20 mg won’t do anything, technically.

True, I dont trust big pharma but I trust them enough that they wouldnt prescribe me shit thatd prevent a white chad like myself growing

The process behind this is actually pretty complicated, in short: you should only be worried about premature closure of your growth plates when you take big doses for an extended period of time. For example if you are a child with cancer who has to take 120mg. There also aren’t really any studies on this for humans so you are pretty safe to use it

How old are you? I wouldnt recommend accutane to avg. 14 year olds the side effects can be brutal
