It deeply bothers me that war analysis is gamified

It is the creepiest thing ever. When people talk about any war, the commentary is always gamified as if human lives aren’t even at stake.

“Captured the area”
“The trench is cleared”
“Holding ____ city”
“Local skirmishes occurring”

It’s insane. Human beings are being slaughtered. Artillery shells are blowing people into 500 different unidentifiable pieces. Rifle rounds are searing their way into people like a hot knife through butter while they scream in anguish. Drones are blowing peoples limbs off while they bleed out in agony.

YOU SHOULD REFUSE TO EVER PICK UP A RIFLE AND GO TO WAR FOR ANY COUNTRY AND ANY CONFLICT.

I've never seen a video where people actually scream in agony from being shot. Of course it depends on where/the situation in its totality, but that's not common at all. Just for one instance, look at the mosque shooting in New Zealand. Did any of them scream from the gunshot wounds? No and they aren't battle hardened soldiers just a bunch of civilians.

You can be rational all you want, but life itself is irrational. Not everything will make sense and if it does make sense, there will be many ways to interpret it.

I agree. It also attracts low IQ men to join because it caters to their inner child—as odd as that may be. It calls upon their first person shooter experience and they now get to live it out in real life. Unfortunately these idiots don’t seem to realize that they won’t respawn
