There was still some pressure on females to marry by early 20s and to value a man that was responsible when it came to making a good career etc. Average looks and it looked like a guy would make a good provider still carried some weight thought not quite as much as before. Even 4/10 males could get a looksmatch or 5/10 while 5/10 males that worked hard could shoot over their looks level much easier than now if they had a good job/decent money etc.

In the 90s it was definitely changing as that dependency on a man mindset was almost gone but things were still local at least and females were exposed to a lot fewer guys and didn't have social media effecting them. Then OLD sites and social media in the 2000s made looks hypergamy go through the roof compared to before. I hear college is tough now but I think this mess peaks for post college females now. It's crazy how many think they deserve a Chadlite or the tall HTN well to do athletic guy no matter if they are not his looks level.
