I can feel my throat getting dry, my eyes warm and my skin sensitive… i am a man living on borrowed time and I can feel the fever swallow me into the dark
“No… no I don’t want to..”
it’s no choice, and I know that but yet I keep resisting.
“Your spirit is strong my child, but your strength has no use if there is nothing to fight…”
I ignore it, I remain searching for something, anything to hold onto, to fight.
“Why child, why go unwillingly when you can go softly?”
I stop fighting.. it slowly loosens its grip around me..
“Why go willingly… if I can choose to NOT GO AT ALL!!!”
It’s grip strengthening again as I frantically search in the dark with my hands.. and I find something..
I wrap my hands around it in grip as tight as I can.. and I twist..
“NOO!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!”
It screams. But mercy isn’t in my vocabulary…
Crack*
I wake up.
I defeated the FEVER yet again… and I stand as the victor
