C'mon dude. The thing is you DON'T know what you're doing. There were no manual books. Humans just started destroying rocks, melting metals, heating up sand then find out about electricity and then controlling electricity through metal. And then shape the metal into transistors which long story short communicate electricity into commands. Now times that process by a billion to make a single smartphone.

And this is a simplified version of it. Invention of processor, LCD, memory, battery, silicone, etc etc are needed. We're not even talking about the internet yet.

But not only that, but even we as a species and what we are today are the result of millions of years (for humans in particular 300 thousand years) of continuous evolution, adaptation to the environment and preferential reproduction

(60% of men in history and 20% of all women never reproduced because they were too unattractive / they were dead / killed etc., so they didn't deserve to continue our species compared to what the rest did)

I understand. Shoulders of giants or whatever. You're seeing this in retrospect though. Like you know how it went down, the progression, the older tech and so on.

To me, the fact we could make a block of metal to do the things it does is insane regardless of how many minds contributed to it taking however long.

We could capture light in the form of a picture made of 1s and 0s and transfer it through thin air into another block of metal in real time. That's insane no matter how you rationalize it.
