It's a hard pill to swallow that everything depends on looks and if you're too ugly then people won't love you. GL people would rather believe it's their personality, their "true essence" or something silly like that.

I think there's purely rational advantages like
You won't get duped as easily since you're aware of lookshalo.
You're less likely to get into things like a betabuxxing relationship by accident.
You know that some things are out of your control so you stop bashing your head against the wall, metaphorically, to try to solve them.

But I understand how you feel.
