It’s impossible to get time off work for surgery

One thing that I don’t see mentioned a lot here is the time off work you need to take for all of these surgeries, and just how colossal of a burden that really is.

Not everyone works a WFH software dev job. Lots of us peons work in-person, physical labor jobs with very, very limited leave (and on average, or less than average salaries, mind you).

Jfl @ asking for weeks and weeks off to get and recover from niche, elective, cosmetic, highly invasive bespoke osteotomies/implants, and not expecting to get laughed out of the room. Hell, it’s a big ask just to get a couple days off in a row for vacation time as it is. God forbid you need multiple months off for something like LL. Not to mention the endless questioning and shit talk you’ll receive when you come back a puffy faced abomination.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not letting this stop me. Surgery is way too important to me to let something like this doom me forever to my current craniofacial bone structure. Fuck that.

But christ man, I’m basically resigned to perpetually quitting my job, blowing massive chunks of my life savings + living frugally off what remains for a time, and re-applying to new employers for every new major surgery I get. Which greatly hampers career progression and increases the cost of the whole endeavor.

The only true wealth I’m going to be consistently accumulating in the background is whatever measly scraps I get from 5% employer-matched retirement savings contributions during periods of employment. That’s it, anything more is too big of a draw from the surgery fund to justify, especially considering the time-sensitive nature of meaningful ascension in light of the agepill vs the much longer time horizon you have to retire.

It’s truly over when you grasp just how many factors stand between a sub8 and (theoretical) ascension.

As of now, my plan as aforementioned is to just work up until I can afford my first round of surgery, request a leave of absence, and if I get denied, just straight up resign and reapply once recovered. Rinse and repeat forever.

It’s a good thing I never plan on having a normie life of a wife, kids, suburban McMansion, etc. Makes maneuvers like this much more feasible and easier to stomach.

It’s over

How old are you and what surgeries are you planning to get?

How much money do you have saved up rn?
Only 11k jfl, but I'm putting away 1,500-2k a month and will cross the 30k+ threshold before the end of the year

Leg lengthening I agree, but anything else shouldn’t be an issue

I had bimax and took 7 weeks FMLA, no issue at all.

Well good for you, but you probably had legitimate medical functionality issues to get that FMLA approved right?

There's just no way they would approve cosmetic work

FMLA can cover elective procedures.

FMLA can cover elective procedures.
I seriously doubt that, but as I said, I'll be trying to get my leave approved first. I'm just fully expecting to get the request denied and thus being forced to quit. It's best to be prepared for the worst case scenario

Lmao. I literally did it, so why do you “seriously doubt that”? You stay the night in the hospital, so fmla covers it

Not about to get into a debate about the minutia of FMLA eligibility, but you were able to get it approved. I might not be so lucky. Obviously I hope I can get it, but precious few things in this life go to plan

If for whatever reason you can’t get fmla approval then just take your vacation for it.

Are you really THAT ugly that you need so much surgeries?
Needing multiple procedures =/= being sub3 in looks

It’s just a consequence of trying to escape averageness

I’ve posted my face multiple times, if you want to see for yourself go through my profile, cba to go back and link all the threads atm

If you’re even considering obo then unfortunately your base is subhuman
Never mind I’ve seen you before, and I stand by what I said. It’s a money sinkhole with little ROI especially at your age

Just personalitymaxx and oofydoofymax

I need double LL too.
