INTRO (idk what to call this)
the brain doesn't like uncertainty. it's more likely to decide something is definite even if that something is depressing and hopeless. it's easier to say "i'm so ugly, i'll never find anyone to love me" than to say "i don't know who's going to love me yet."
when you don't have answers, your brain tries to create them. your brain would rather create certainty than tolerate the unknown.
uncertainty activates the nervous system, the body prefers clarity. predictability is safe. when the future feels unclear, your brain searches for protection.
research suggests the brain often finds uncertainty more stressful than knowing a negative outcome is definitively going to happen
WHY DO YOU HATE UNCERTAINTY?
it is a survival instinct to be scared of the unknown.
when you don't know what comes next, your amygdala activates. it treats the lack of information as a potential threat.
the amygdala signals the hypothalamus to activate your body's stress response, increasing adrenaline and cortisol to prepare you for potential danger.
when panic and stress levels rise, the prefrontal cortex is inhibited, making it harder to process the situation clearly.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
you're not weak or low T for thinking it's over. this hate for uncertainty was developed as a survival instinct, it's part of your biology.
it's not actually over for you. having hope isn't cope, thinking there is none is.
