On the topic of social skills and game, your working memory or CPU (as ITV/Rehab room calls it), happens to be a brutal NT-pill.
-Social skills are the manners and conversational rules you use to communicate with people.
-Working memory is your ability to juggle tasks in a short period of time. Often called “short term memory” or RAM for a computer.
Working memory is where your social skills get applied. You can learn the rules can have “great social skills”, but if you can’t process info to keep an interesting conversation going, you might come off as having poor social skills.
Some guys have the CPU to come up with a witty opener for that cute girl they’ve run into the first time AND not mess up the rest of the conversation. They have enough processing power to have interesting questions (not, “where are you from?”, “how far is that?”), flirt effectively, and slip in a good joke.
For guys who are non-NT, including ADHD, working memory is often terrible. It’s almost impossible to come up with a Chat-GPT script or reply to keep a convo going smoothly.
The only exceptions are guys who are well above average in looks (5 PSL+) who can get away with “hi, I’m (name)” or “you’re really cute, what’s your name?” so they have plenty of short term memory to carry the rest of the conversation without freezing. In fact, the girl will be asking interesting questions or sometimes flirting first, so all you have to do is respond accordingly.
Being confident also greatly affects how good your working memory is. But if you’ve been treated like crap due to your looks, that may also be in the gutter.
