I'd say millennials and the earliest zoomers. Anyone born early enough that they were older than 14 in 2012 lived a sizable part of their childhood and/or teens before social media, smartphones, 4G internet etc. really transformed society. But using the beginning of TikTok and Insta+young enough to grow up with them as a cutoff works too I guess.

I get your point against "presentism" or feeling like our time is exceptional compared to all others in history cause every generation felt so, but this time it really is different, you can't compare the transformation that society is currently undergoing from technology to any other period in history. Yeah there's always been declining empires, periods of chaos and social confusion, disruptive social changes due to technology, boomers feeling the world is getting worse and younger generations don't get it, but nothing on this level. Our time really is exceptional and unprecedented compared to every other in history.

I think in 2012 the internet was still seen as a bit nerdy and most normies didn't really care about "internet drama" and saw people who knew too much about it as non-NT.
