I was just informed by the little people that live in a tin can in my backyard next to a big pile of dog shit. i make the dog shit in that area. though the little people adapted to the smell. sometimes, you can hear one of them respond to the dog. but in a tiny little voice. "oh, great. here comes some more shit for our little lungs to filter out." then he'll look up to me and say, "thanks, asshole! we appreciate it."
